Interesting Equipment We Found on Internet

17th February 2015, Singapore –
We were kinda bored as 80% of Singapore’s businesses is shutting down for the upcoming Chinese Lunar New Year. So we have pretty nothing much to do in the studio so we turned to google. Instead of typing “Photography” – which we were pretty bored with that too, we keyed in “Interesting Photo Gear” and several interesting results came up. We decided to pick 2 and write about what we think about these products.

The Peak Design Slide Professional Camera Sling (pictured above) was one of our pick.
From our understanding, the rest of the world call it “Slide” instead of PDSPCS. That’s quite a mouthful actually. Slide is a camera strap, but designed and made differently. It’s more than just a strap that you use to wear your camera, we call it an integration of the best camera straps that we (or you) can think of.

Apart from regular uses like a normal camera strap, the Slide has a proprietory system that they call Anchor Link that an user only need one hand to connect. Next is what we like best, a 2-way, 2-tension slide adjustment that has a grippy side and a smooth one on the opposite side. This allows the user to custom-use their Slide to exactly how they want it to behave. Cool eh? That’s not all, the wide strap promises comfort and promises to take away (compensate) the weightiest of DSLRs.  Look-wise, the material reminds me of racing seatbelt harness which means this strap is much tougher than it actually looks and we also found out that comfort is not compromised as Slide has padded underlinings and best of all, Slide looks good.

So far from what we have read and see, the Slide is probably the strongest camera strap that we had known to date, Slide can hold (almost) anything (big cameras, big lenses etc)!
Last but not least, we also learned that Slide is fully compatible with Arca-Swiss-type tripod heads, this means the user can secure the camera onto the tripod without without unscrewing anything – sweet!

The next gear that caught our attention was the Audio Technica ATR3350 Lavalier Omnidirectional Condenser Microphone. Audio-Technica’s newscaster-style omnidirectional ATR3350 lavalier is engineered for intelligible, accurate voice reproduction. This high-quality condenser is ideal for video use, and is a favorite choice for aerobics/dance/sports instructors. Its low-profile design assures minimum visibility, and is engineered for intelligible, accurate voice reproduction. In addition, the capsule features an omni pickup pattern.

This newscaster-style miniature mic is perfect for video use, or any other application where minimum visibility and a low profile are desired. This also makes it an ideal choice for aerobics/dance/sports instructors.

The lavalier features an Omni pickup pattern, for full, 360-degree coverage. Clip it on and go, without worrying to much about where it’s pointing. And best of all, it works with almost all the cameras today with its integrated 6-meters (20-foot) cable with 3.5 mm mini-plug that connects directly to cameras ports.
