Pink Submission #13 “ToyArt-Creativity Unleashed” Editor’s Picks

02nd February 2016, SingaporePINK Photographers Singapore (PPSG) – the 13th Edition of Pink Submissions revolves around an interesting and upcoming trend of shooting (photographing) toys. Following our ToyArt Workshop last month, Toy Photography is all about managing ratio, selecting the right toys, choosing an appropriate background and many experimentation – to get that one perfect shot while while creating a realistic scene with an unreal subject.

From the 1000+ entries (Combined) that we had received, including those who had hashtagged us on Instagram and some from emails (people with no Facebook account), this theme attracted all sorts of toy images. We asked all submissions to be  captioned & hashtagged (#pinksubmissions13 + #ourshutterjourney + #toyart ) but sadly many nice works were rejected as they failed to meet the required conditions. (Reading instructions is important people!)

Together with the judges (Sponsor), We have selected the below images that best represent this theme and several things were considered before the image made it here. From compositions, exposure, image quality and clarity to final delivery and captions. Before we get to the selected entries, let’s hear what the sponsor Alan Photo Trading  & the Editor AL have to say about the entries.

“ToyArt is not about just placing a toy in front of the camera and shoot. I had said this many times during my workshops but still many failed to understand the logic of it all. However, this round submission I saw some really cool works and I am impressed. While sadly, many nice images were rejected due to missing captions or inappropriate captions. Please try harder ladies!
Those who had their images made it here, Congrats and Good Job!”
 AL, Editor.

“We never knew that ToyArt or Toy Photography has such a huge following in Singapore. Shutter Journey & Pink Photographers are definitely the market leaders for this art and from the entries received, we ended up looking at each image longer than expected. We simply got transported to another world – an interesting and cute world to be exact. Nice work Pink Ladies!”
– John Chong, Alan Photo Trading.
