Nikon launches free “NIKKOR & ACC” app for iPAD
A handy application that allows users to extensively search and compare information on NIKKOR lenses has been developed and launched by Nikon

23rd Arpil 2015, Singapore – Nikon Singapore Pte Ltd is pleased to announce the release of a new app made exclusive for iPad, the “NIKKOR & ACC” app that introduces NIKKOR lenses for cameras with interchangeable lenses and a variety of accessories. The app can be downloaded for free from Apple’s App Store. In addition, a short movie has also been released for introduction of the contents of the app.

The “NIKKOR & ACC” app makes it possible to download the contents of ‘Digital Catalog’, which includes the entire lineup of NIKKOR lenses1 for a convenient search for lenses based on type, technology used, specifications and sample images. Quick confirmation of lens information helps users who are considering to purchase of new Nikon camera lenses to find a lens most desired or most appropriate for their imaging purpose.

The ‘Digital Catalog’ menu offers five categories with lens specifications, lens categories, focal length, f-number, and a variety of sample images sorted by shooting scenes. Users can then compare the various options available in the range to find the most suitable lens. ‘Contents Maps’ which allows users to directly select desired contents of the ‘Digital Catalog’ is also available. The “NIKKOR Lens Technology” movie that introduces Nikon’s representative lens technologies, alongside “The Optical Masterpiece” movie that demonstrates the high-quality and reliability of sophisticated NIKKOR lenses, further accompany the app contents.

Users will be pleased to discover the vast availability of helpful information such as lens characteristics, primary specifications, illustration of lens construction, MTF curves, sample images, accessories as well as external designs included in the introduction of each lens. The focal length and angle of view of the lens are also illustrated with sample images for easier understanding.

Information on lens basics, NIKKOR lens technology, Speedlights, and more, will be added to the contents of the ‘Digital Catalog’ in the near future. Nikon also plans to continue creating more apps for Nikon imaging products such as an app for Nikon DSLR cameras.

The achievement is also accompanied by the equally momentous 50 million total production mark for NIKKOR lenses equipped with the Silent Wave Motor (SWM) technology.
