17th November 2015, Singapore – When the news reported that Mr. Kwek Leng Joo, 61 – the man who was responsible for CDL (City Development Limited), a known humble billionaire & an avid photographer who had raised millions for charities, I was shocked. He passed away on the night of 15th November 2015 in his sleep following a “sudden heart attack”. His passing came as a shock to thousands of photographers in Singapore.

I got acquainted to Mr Kwek just a couple of months ago when he asked to join my photography group. I have long heard about his good work and about him but never had a chance to formally speak to him. I sent him a welcome message and posted an announcement on our group wall welcoming him to which he responded with “Let’s learn from each other, we improve together.” After that, a couple of private messages was corresponded between Mr Kwek and myself and he agreed to an exclusive interview  for this site which is due to be published in December 2015. It was supposed to be an article about his photography achievements and designed to inspire new photographers about creating powerful images.

Although the exclusive interview with Mr. Kwek did not happened, I am sure it would have been memorable after hearing so much good things about him. He will be remembered & dearly missed by the photography community in Singapore. There will never be another Mr. Kwek Leng Joo.

The Editorial Team would like to take this opportunity to convey our Deepest Condolences to Mr. Kwek’s family.
