Macro at Jurong Lake Gardens

Macro at Jurong Lake Gardens
– Text by Melody Tan

30th May 2026, Singapore – SJS made its return to Jurong Lake Gardens for a session of night macro. Similar to the recent outing at Thomson Nature Park, the park were swarmed by mosquitoes. Luckily the weather had been kind, there was no rain and it was not exactly hot that night.

One of the key things that we discovered was – many species were mating probably due to the heat. We found many mating insects.

It seems “everyone” were having a great time.

And also the usual suspects were all out that night.

It had been fun that night. If only the mosquitoes were out mating instead of feeding.
