ToyArt (Beach Theme)

16th May 2026, Singapore – Shutter Journey (Singapore) Photography Group is the pioneer for starting the ToyArt Movement back in 2004. This form of toy photography has always been challenging to most people as the real techniques are involving ratio-management and background selection for framing and composition – it is not just placing a toy and shoot. The group took ToyArt back to the beach recently and shoot based on a beach theme.

Although it was raining heavily before the event, everyone made it to the event and managed to shoot though the light drizzle before the rain came down heavy and the Trainer AL have to halt the event. And by then, everyone had already gotten all the shots that they wanted.

The dedication to learning is worth complimenting. The size of the figurines are already challenging and the beach sand also made it harder for everyone to get a good shot.

After many of the photographers had uploaded to our Facebook group as Homework Submission, many of the photos got reported by others who thought the toy figurines were real human and we were shooting NFT-style photo on a public beach. (We are still giggling).

Shallow as these people may be, it also means the photographers had done a great job and managed to shoot a toy figurine correctly to blend into the surrounding making the scene looking real yet unreal at the same time.
