26th April 2013, Singapore – 2013 Sigma 120-300m F2.8 DG OS HSM (S)
Sigma’s long-awaited “S” (SPORTS) Lens was (finally) announced earlier this month. And with its expected delivery to reaching the stores in May 2013, a demo unit was quietly shipped to Sigma Singapore for a hands-on preview.
I was excited to be the first reviewer in Singapore to be issued with this lens.

Those familiar with Sigma’s Super Telephoto Zoom lenses will point out that this 120-300mm is the 3rd incarnation since the first appearance of the EX DG series. But the new 120-300mm is not just a cosmetic upgrade – this lens is redesigned from scratch, spotting high quality TSC (thermally stable composite)Β  material for its lens barrel, sensible layout of control buttons, a new grip material for the zoom & focusing rings, this ultra bright (F2.8) super telelphoto zoom lens now sits at the top of the “S” line being the first “Sports” lens being launched under the new “Sigma Global Vision” directive.

There are more goodies. The new 120-300mm comes with the company’s signature super multi-layer coating and the blazing fast HSM for that spot-on focusing at incredible speed. At 3kg+, this lens is not exactly light, it has 23 elements in 18 group (that is a lot of glass!!!), 9 round aperture blades and best of all, it has 02 FLD Glass & 1 SLD Glass! Sigma’s FLD had always been a threat to Canon’s Fluorite as they are essentially identical with similar properties – so Sigma made this lens a “double-up” with 2 excellent FLD elements so you can imagine what this lens is capable of.

On the design, I feel that Sigma had matured in many ways. The company works it’s lens design based on useability (ease of use), practicality (sensible design) and most importantly, it is designed for professional photographers. My previous reviews on the new Art series & Contemporary series lenses had seen Leica-like & Carl Zeiss-like quality, the new 120-300mm is no exception. When I handled the lens, it feels like one of those “$10K” lenses which is out of reach for many hobbyists & enthusiasts. But when I found out the humble asking price for this lens, it put a smile on my face. Now Sigma fans will have an affordable and professional level lens within their reach.

Enough talk, let’s take a look at the photos that I had managed to shoot using this lens. As I am not a big fan of nature, please pardon my bad compositions instead, pay attention to the details captured. πŸ™‚
I decided to test this lens at Sungei Buloh Wetland Reserves.

Amazed? Well, let’s try more things. I decided to shoot my Behind-the-scenes photographer with his wife Adela Teo
while they are having some fun during the break. At the 2 extreme end of focal lengths.

As we can see from the photos produced by this lens above, it is clearly targeted at Sports Photographers, Wildlife Photographers & event Portrait Photographers. Personally I will recommend the use of a monopod or tripod with this lens. This is an excellent piece of glass and a professional one too. Given its asking price and image quality, the new 120-300mm is for anyone who wish venture into the above mentioned genre, wants quality images and smart enough to save a huge amount of money.

As mentioned on the title, this is Part 1. Our sub-editors are working on Part 2 as you read, they are working the new Sigma 120-300mm on sports events right now. Do stay tuned to us.

Before I end the review, I would like to extend my sincere thanks to those who had recently shared my article links to dpreview, photography-on-the-net, DXO, Clubsnap, etc. This encourages me to work harder and to return with more quality reviews. Like some had mentioned, the reviews are not technical – and yes, I confirmed that. From day 1 when I decided to review photography equipments, I had always wanted to give my readers a real world perspective of the equipment that I am reviewing instead of bombarding the readers with numbers & specifications which they can easily find elsewhere online. So to be exact, this site is not for gear freaks, but for those who wish to know what their (potential) equipments are capable of. If you like what I am doing, keep coming back. If you don’t, too bad, well just too bad, this is my style, you are most welcome to visit other sites. πŸ™‚

Sigma 50mm F2.8 EX DG Macro – A Performer

As part of my Macro Lens Series, this round I took the Sigma 50mm F2.8 EX DG Macro for a walk recently.
I have the lens mated to a Pentax K-X (x1.5 crop factor). At 50mm (75mm on 35mm format), the Sigma Macro 50mm F2.8 EX DG is a “standard” macro lens that is excellent for a wide variety of uses. From shooting life-size (1:1) tiny details of insects & flowers to general use like portraits or landscape is seemingly possible. Although I always mention that this lens is very useful for table top studio/ macro uses during my photography class, this lens is actually good for many other uses. Interesting point to note, the 50mm Macro has a flat front element unlike many other macro lenses of this focal range. This means the 50mm can shoot paintings, stamps or anything flat and render a near-zero distortion. In short, landscape is perfect too!

Small & compact, do not be fooled, it has 10 elements in 9 groups (a lot of glass for a lens this size) and it can be stopped down all the way to F32 (while many other macro lenses stopped at F22) while maintaining a light weight of 320gm makes it really light to be carried around without much issue. This is one of the few aging lens in the Sigma product line and given its humble asking price, I will recommend anyone looking for a versatile focal range macro lens to get this lens. Why so? Take a look at the photos shot with this lens below.

IMGP1355FB IMGP1359FB IMGP1368FB IMGP1411FB

Check out the tack sharp photos. So how does it performed when used for other genres?

IMGP1402 IMGP1392FB

Now who say you cannot use a Macro lens for Landscape photos?
For me, I am a little strange as I always liked to use a 50mm on my APS-C cameras to get a 75mm equivalent.
I find that whenever I shoot at 75mm especially structures or building, the distortions are minimized or even eliminated. Using this Sigma 50mm F2.8 EX DG Macro, there’s the added value of able to do macro when I need it.
If you can look beyond the age of the lens, the cosmetic values of the lens, this is one macro lens that everyone should at least own. I call this lens the “convenience lens” – and one that really perform.

Sigma 18-35mm F1.8 DC HSM ART – No Kidding

sigma1835mma

18th April 2013, GMT +8.00 1300hrs – A pair of photos were leaked yesterday on regards to the latest surprise from Sigma Corporation. A zoom lens that has a constant F1.8 Aperture made for APS-C cameras and many were questioning
if the source of this news is credible. Well, as a matter of fact, yes it is. Officially announced today (10 mins ago), this is for real and a wonderful piece of art.

Looking at the specs, this latest ART Lens from Sigma will set the benchmark for ALL Camera Brands and gives the world a run for the money instead of the “standard issue” 18-55mm something something”.
Having the the equivalent of 27mm-52.2mm on a 35mm format actually will also crippled the sales of other brands’ prime lenses like the 28mm F2.8/f1.8 & 35mm F2/F1.8 made by other brands. Although prime lenses are widely known to be sharper than zoom lenses, I am unable to comment as of now as the review unit is still on its way to me. But given Sigma’s recent achievements & success with the 35mm F1.4 ART, the 17-70mm Contemporary & the 30mm F1.4 ART, this lens will be scrutinized for its quality and personally I think Sigma will not have any problem to keep up and maintain the new standards.

sigma1835mm2

As expected from Sigma, this lens comes with the Super Multi-Layer coating to eliminate ghosting on photos, comes standard with the company’s Hyper Sonic Motor (HSM) and you will be happy to note that this lens has a minimum focusing distance of only 28cm. In the box, a pouch and a new lens hood is included. Made from the new TSC material, the lens barrel is expected to have the same finishing as the earlier releases under the Sigma Global Vision.

This 9-bladder is a mid sized lens at 3.1 inch x 4.8 inch and weights 810gm and we have quite a bit of glass in there as the construction has 17 elements in 12 groups! (That’s a lot of glass!) Filter size is 72mm – just right for a lens this size.
I will be back with the review after I tested it. Stay Tuned.

Who is the real Pentax Distributor in Singapore?

header_logo_index

15th April 2013 – This just in. A reader emailed me informing us that there has been some
sort of stolen identity and controversies surrounding the brand Pentax in Singapore.

From our understanding, Pentax was previously distributed by Emjay Singapore and there was
a change of distributorship since end of 2012 to the current distributor Audio & Photo Distributor (F.E) Pte Ltd
(better known as APD Singapore).

However, a Facebook account going by the name of “Pentax Singapore” had surfaced and was misrepresenting the
current distributor with rude and harsh comments when the public asked the said account on regards to servicing
details. A quick check on the “Pentax Singapore” facebook included links to PENTAXWEBSTORE.SG which is not managed by the current distributor APD Singapore. On the web page, the page owner also claimed that they are the “Official Pentax Distributor in Singapore” which further confuses the public into La-La-land.

When we contacted APD Singapore to verify, Mr. Kenny Khaw from APD Singapore confirmed that APD Singapore is
the exclusive distributor for all PENTAX Brand products from DSLRs, Lenses, Compact Cameras, Binoculars & Accessories. He further confirmed that there is no other “official distributor” in Singapore. However Kenny added that likely, there might be others who parallel-imported these units in for sale in Singapore. He also mentioned that it is possible to trace the origins of the product from the serial number that runs on a world0wide system. Buying these “grey sets” are not encouraged, he added.

Below are some of the screen shots sent in by the reader who alerted us.

For details & clarifications, please contact Singapore’s Appointed Distributor for PENTAX at +65 62739622 or

Sigma 70mm F2.8 EX DG Macro – Still Going Strong.

SONY DSC
Picture: Sigma 70mm F2.8 EX DG Macro + Sigma EM-140 DG Macro Flash on a Nikon DSLR
for this review.

Many of my students tend to ask me about Macro Lenses – like which one to get, why so many focal lengths, what are they used for, etc.
As a macro instructor, I grouped the lenses into various categories for easier understanding.
(Please Note I had excluded APS-C Macro Lenses like the Canon’s 60mm & Olympus’s 35mm to prevent confusion)

In 35mm Format.
Group 1 (Table Top Macro)
30mm Macro
40mm Macro
50mm Macro

Group 2 (General Macro)
90mm Macro
100mm Macro
105mm Macro

Group (Discreet Macro)
150mm Macro
180mm Macro
200mm Macro

So it is now easier to understand? Although all Macro lenses are dual-use lenses due to the wide aperture of mostly F2.8, the F2.8 is really for something else. Or rather, who in the right mind will shoot Macro in F2.8? Go Figure. So back to the Sigma 70mm F2.8 EX DG Macro. The focal range is neither here or there. Which category does it fit into then? Well, you can say that Sigma came up the 70mm Macro range on purpose.
Why so? It seats nicely in between the Table Top Macro group & the General Macro group. Designed for flexibility, the 70mm is a capable performer from indoor product shoots to outdoor hunting for little insects & flowers. And if you are using a APS-C camera body, the 70mm gives you the equivalent of 105mm (112mm on Canon APS-C) after adding the crop factor.

Although this is an ageing model in today’s “get the latest” buying trend from gear collectors and consumers, as a professional, I still believes what lies beneath the body is more important than anything else. The Sigma 70mm F2.8 EX DG Macro comes with (yes, you are reading it right)Β  03 x SLD (Special Low Dispersion) glass elements (similar’s Canon’s Fluorite) provides optimum color correction and consistant sharpness throughout the entire zoom range. And all Sigma lens of today comes with the company’s proven Super Multi-layer coating that reduces flares & possible ghosting. With a Macro lens spec-ed like this, it does not really matter how old the lens is. Rather, how will perform? Let’s take a look at the photos shot with this lens. I had paired it with a Nikon DSLR for this review.

ALN_5056
ALN_5069
ALN_5073 ALN_5079

I am totally amazed with the photos from the 70mm. It produces crispy sharp photo despite it age in the market.
So this goes to proves that so what if a lens is of an old model. Just look at the photos. With the very affordable

Sigma 10mm F2.8 EX DC HSM Fisheye – Extreme Perspectives Part II

SONY DSC
Picture: Pentax K-30 with Sigma 10mm F2.8 EX DC HSM Fisheye in Tokyo.

Further to my earlier review of the Sigma 10mm F2.8 EX DC HSM Fisheye during our trip to Cebu, Philippines – I have decided to do a Part II
review of this excellent Fisheye Lens. Apart from creating extreme perspectives as what I had called it – there must be a good reason why I decided
to pack this lens again for my recent trip to Tokyo Japan. Lots of my students told me that they do travel with ultra wide angle lenses but Fisheye?

All I can say is, some of my best travel photos are done using Fisheye lenses. This Sigma 10mm F2.8 EX DC HSM Fisheye had proven itself during my trip to Cebu, Philippines producing incredible photos with superb color and amazing sharpness.Β  This round, let’s see what I had managed to produce with this Fisheye & pairing it with a Pentax K-30!

Pentax K-30 with Sigma 10mm F2.8 EX DC HSM Fisheye

So most people has the wrong impression that Fisheye lenses are distorted and it compromise sharpness. Well,
the next few photos clarify the myth. It distorts the view, but sharpness is left untouched.

From inside the observation wheel, I took the below shot.

IMGP0620
Picture: From inside Observation Wheel 100%, Arakawa Yuen Amusement Park, Japan.
Pentax K-30 with Sigma 10mm F2.8 EX DC HSM Fisheye

Then I cropped 25% away and look at the below photo, all details are still very visible.

IMGP0620B
Picture: From inside Observation Wheel 25% Cropped, Arakawa Yuen Amusement Park, Japan.
Pentax K-30 with Sigma 10mm F2.8 EX DC HSM Fisheye

Then I gave the photo another 50% crop and see below, amazing details are all retained!

IMGP0620BC
Picture: From inside Observation Wheel 75%, Arakawa Yuen Amusement Park, Japan.

Pentax K-30 with Sigma 10mm F2.8 EX DC HSM Fisheye

Amazed? Well, this is also the very reason why I travel a lot with Fisheyes. While every other persons is trying to
shoot touristy photos (likely everyone will be doing the same shots), I decide to spoil the party with Fisheye photos.
For the simple reason that people are generally lazy and likes to travel light. Well, this compact Fisheye certainly
adds a little extra weight, but totally neligible.

IMGP0625

The colors are amazing at this time of the year in Japan, Blue skies against an oaky backdrop.
I took the next shot with the circular adaptor installed on the lens.

Dramatic effects can be achieved with the Fisheye too. The above example is of a photo that I rendered into mono.

2013 Sigma 30mm F1.4 DC HSM ART Review

IMG_6131
Picture: Sigma 30mm F1.4 DC HSM ART – A Closer Look.

The new Sigma 30mm F1.4 DC HSM ART was announced as the 2nd Sigma DC Lens to be re-branded under the Sigma Global Vision under the ART Line of optics. Designed exclusively for APS-C camera bodies, this is also the 2nd lens to be announced under the Art series. First, the Sigma 35mm F1.4 DG HSM ART took the world by surprising professional photographers with its excellent optical quality & tank-like solidness, then came the Sigma 17-70mm F2.8-4 DC CONTEMPORARY the best all-in-one lens that we had reviewed. Although the new Sigma 120-300mm F2.8 DG OS HSM SPORTS had been announced, we will not get it here until May 2013 – then Sigma 30mm F1.4 DC HSM ART came.

IMG_6127
Picture: 2013 Sigma 30mm F1.4 DC HSM with the Canon APS-C Camera.

Sigma’s DC lenses had always been a favorite choice with photographers, re-branded under the Art category, this large-aperture standard lens is created for APS-C users for creative & artistic photography. the 30mm focal range when converted to 35mm format, the 30mm is equivalent to about 45mm (Nikon, Sony, Pentax) or 48mm (Canon) which is a very useable standard range for a wide variety of uses.

The bright aperture of F1.4 simply open doors to unimaginable photography possibilities. From the 2 earlier relaunch lenses and expected from Sigma, the 30mm F1.4 gets the Hyper Sonic Motor (HSM) that gives quiet and blazing fast & accurate focusing. Lens is coated with the company’s proven Super Multi-Layer Coating for excellent image quality and as seen as the earlier releases, the lens is built with TSC (Thermally Stable Composite) that completes the “ART package”. The overall handling feels very solid and feels very much like the Carl Zeiss 50mm F1.4. If you had blindfolded me, I’d probably not able to tell them apart.

IMG_6133
Picture: The Sigma 30mm F1.4 DC HSM ART is a compact lens but still consider a large lens by APS-C Standards.

According to Sigma, since the incorporation of the “Sigma Global Vision” standard, every Sigma lens will be tested before using the Sigma A1 MTF system before the lens is packed for shipping.

Sigma Singapore passed me the lens last week for review and I happened to be at S.E.A Aquarium at RWS so I had a little fun with the new Sigma 30mm F1.4 DC HSM. Let’s take a look at what this 9-bladder is capable of.

IMG_8426 IMG_8399 IMG_8402
IMG_8499 IMG_8609 IMG_8463 IMG_8579

The Sigma 30mm F1.4 DC HSM ART performed beyond my expectations in low lights from the photos above.
the aquarium is quite dimly lit and that did not stop the lens, in fact, it shoot as if it is daylight in there and
plus the sharpness is notably sharp. I must add at this point that I almost forgotten I was using the 30mm as
it feels like the bigger brother (35mm F1.4) while in the dark. The same focusing at break neck speed and the
accuracy of the focus really makes this 30mm F1.4 a joy to use.

So how does it perform in normal outdoor condition?

IMG_8375 IMG_8369

The above photos were shot under “normal” conditions and the lens produced excellent
results. I took a step further to test the new 30mm F1.4 for infrared photography to check
if the lens produces “hotspots” which is the biggest enemy of infrared photographers. This
is a phenomenon where a “huge ball of red cloud” appears in the center of the photo which
cannot be removed by digital processing.

IMG_8134 IMG_8145

From the above photos, you can see the new 30mm F1.4 actually produces NO Hotspot! Which means
this lens is suitable for infrared photography too!

Many will ask, so the new Sigma 30mm F1.4 DC HSM ART performed as well as the Sigma 35mm F1.4 DG HSM ART
then why this lens? Let me explain, on the product line, Sigma had always been committed to APS-C users with their
“DC” line of lenses, since the 35mm F1.4 is targeted at full frame users & professionals, the 30mm is really made for
serious enthusiasts and semi-pros. In terms of costs, the 30mm F1.4 is cheaper since the targeted market differs
greatly from the 35mm F1.4’s market. If you have a APS-C body and do not really intend to move up the scale to
a full frame camera body anytime soon, the 30mm F1.4 will save you lots of money.

IMG_6069
Picture: The New Sigma 30mm F1.4 DC HSM ART (left) & the New Sigma 35mm F1.4 DG HSM ART (right)

From the photo above you will notice that the 30mm F1.4 is slightly smaller – just like little brother of the 35mm F1.4
Both lenses are remarkably built. From what I had been observing, Sigma is very serious on their re-branding
on their products and they are enjoying success in their quest to capture the market – by more surprises in the coming months launching high-quality optics at reasonable asking prices.

The Pentax WG-3 Adventure

Our Sub-Editor Edward Tian reviews the Adventure-Proof PentaxWG-3
text: Allan Lee
IMG_5941

Pentax WG-3 Key Functions:
– Waterproof, shockproof, crushproof, coldproof, dustproof
– Backlit 16 megapixel CMOS sensor
– New-generation Imaging Engine
– PENTAX Sensor-Shift Shake Reduction system
– Advanced GPS functions & Wireless Recharging

The Adventure Begins
Into its 15th incarnation, the Pentax WG series is familiar with extreme adventurers from all over the world. Boasting great image quality and a wide aperture lens, the WG-3 even comes with a digital pressure meter, altitude & depth gauges, a compass & wireless charging for the WG-3 that is GPS enabled. With these functions, there is no where you cannot go with the WG-3.

Into the camera, the ISO max out at 6400 but noise are better controlled at 3200, but most will like the bright backlight CMOS sensor that promises to deliver super high resolution photos that are color-accurate whether you are shooting 45 feet under the sea or high up in the Alps with sub-zero temperatures. With a very useable and sensible focal range of 25-100mm F4 (35mm equivalent), the WG-3 is ready for any adventure!

I must add that I really love the LED Lights built around the lens rims that comes on when doing a macro close-up.
πŸ™‚

Pentax claimed the WG to be β€œAdventure Proof”.
Our Review Sub-Editor Edward Tian will take the Pentax WG-3 through its paces and to totally abuse it to see if the camera is for real.

Edward decided that his daughter “S” should have a go at abusing the Pentax WG-3 – at a water park of course!

180313-1

My jaws dropped when Edward sent me these photos of his daughter not just shooting with the WG-3, she is
like letting the water gushed non stop onto the camera and……

180313-2

She even dropped it hard, coupled with the fast flowing water, Edward told me the WG-3 landed with a loud
“thud”. And hey, the camera survived and still works. Somehow, the material used for the body allows itself
to got away from this abuse without a single scratch. Wow!

IMG_0079

Since the Pentax WG-3 is crush proof, what better way will be to check then to really crush it. Edward
had the WG-3 rolled over by a Honda Civic and ……

IMG_0178

the WG-3Β  survived the crushing! The light on the integrated GPS/ Electronic Gauges lights up to show
that the camera is still alive. Here’s a closer view!

IMG_0180

Amazed? It’s not a brick that Edward is reviewing here, it’s a camera. So let’s take a look at the photos
that the WG-3 produced.

The Night Scene
4

Shooting Food
1

On Macro Close Ups.
2

Miniature Mode
3

I am totally sold on the camera! Probably the only complaint that Edward has was, the camera unit that were loaned to us is probably not a production model and maybe that explains the battery life is slightly shorter than published.

A quick check with the local Pentax Agent (APDS) confirmed that the unit that we had above is just a demo unit which
the circuitry is not the same as the production model. That also explained why the battery life is erratically unstable. However, the agent assures us and the public that this problem will not exists in the cameras from the main shipment.

Phew!

Picture: Edward Tian (Edward Adios)

As usual, we are not interested to post the full specs here as you can easily check it up at
http://www.pentaximaging.com/digital-camera/WG-3_GPS_purple

What is more important to us is, how the photos turned out and how the camera performed.
Wouldn’t you agree?

eBay Beware – Online Cheat “a0922802596”

This is part 4.

I have created a new Category on this site for online cheats, so do check back often for updates and be protected. Especially Sellers from eBay.

Online Cheat Profile: “Scott Kuo”
eBay Seller ID: β€œa0922802596”.
Real Name: Yang Yu Ning
Company Name: Nil
Seller email: joycastle0120@yahoo.com.tw
Claimed Location: Taiwan.
Telephone: Non-US Verified

Case:

I bought 2 items from this seller β€œa0922802596” on 2nd of January 2013 for my Pentax cameras.
Seeing that the seller had deal for 38000+ times on eBay, i felt safe to purchase from this person.
So I clicked “Buy it now” and paid for the purchases on the same day.

Then a month passed and nothing was delivered, so in mid Feb, I wrote to the seller asking about the
items and she claimed that it is probably on the way and advised me to wait for another week.
As expected a week passed and I wrote to this seller again and she claimed maybe the package is
lost which is common for small packages. She offered to resend the items. I agreed.

After a few days, she wrote back to me claiming the items that I had purchased is no longer in stock, then
she offered a refund. I replied and agreed. Then this is when things happened. No refund were made, no
more respond from her and and she even removed her selling lists from my view (a function available to sellers)!

Atrocious! This is really small money to me, but it is the principle of selling and being a responsible seller.
I wrote back to her a couple more times and still she is not replying at all. Leaving with no choice and to prevent
more people to get cheated from this seller, I had opened a case on ebay/PayPal today and I decided to “feature”
this eBay cheat here – for the good of all.

Established in 1959, Cathay Photo since its very beginning has been driven by the objectives of providing the best photographic equipment, pricing and service to our customers. These objectives have ensured its continued growth from just two humble showcases occupying a quarter of a shop-front to its present five retail outlets, an administrative / distribution office and a warehouse.

3 Years is a Long Time – SJS Celebrates 3rd Year in Service.

Β Advocators of Carefree Photography Celebrates 3 years of photography.

417626_341492249224657_1876496331_n

How time flies. Shutter Journey (Singapore) Photography Group or β€œSJS” is 3 years old today. Formed purely for the sake of having an independent photography group for community learning and sharing of knowledge and the common love of photography, the group had came a long way since 1st March 2010.

150087_162233333817217_3410840_n406087_514138375293376_731488608_n

Bringing people together from all walks of life and all levels of photography from beginners to professionals, the group was working towards creating a culture dubbed by the Founders as β€œCarefree Photography” which was (and still is) well received by the members. There is certainly no hierarchy in photography, everyone is the same. It’s not the brand that anyone is using, only our style made us different from each other.

Events formed the main element of SJS. From weekly photo-shoots, to overseas trips, to commercial assignments, to having our every own photography exhibition without corporate assistance, to organizing photography talks, charity shoots, grassroots events, arts & performing arts, photography contests, seminars & courses, we have done it all. And this was made possible because it is also the very same people who attend the events that helped to make it happened from planning stages to actual execution. Trust us, it is not as easy as it seems. And not to forget, the hardworking moderators who have been an excellent help to us. Till date, SJS had organized over 250 photography-related events in 3 years with everyone’s help!

Running an independent group is never easy. We knew this from the start, people will come, people will go, and keeping everyone together is definitely not easy. For those who had left SJS, we hoped that we had done our part in their photography journey while wishing them all their best and hope they continue their learning journey elsewhere. As for those that are still active today, we hope to be able to continue meeting their learning needs, to enrich their photography journeys and to assist them in every possible way so that together, we can continue to improve ourselves together – as a group, as a community.

Planning for events is another headache as Singapore is just a little bigger than Sentosa (pardon the pun). We have to constantly invent new photography ideas, reading up newspapers & surfing online sites for events or news, researching on new techniques and even working with other photography groups to organize events together. What goes on behind the scenes is really something that words cannot really describe. But still we went ahead and enjoyed every minute of it. As much as we enjoy putting the event together, we hope the members will also enjoy every event with us.

After all, the group is for everybody, SJS is for everybody.
Thank you for the past support rendered to us and we hope to have your continued support for many years to come.

Thank You. CLICK!
