27th August 2019, Singapore – By pairing the Olympus Flagship model OM-D EM-1X with the Top of the line Pro Series lens – the 45mm F1.2 PRO – we were wondering what kind of results will professional portraiture photographers might produce in an controlled environment. So our Editor AL decided to pass the set to a long time friend of his – Hilarion Goh – a Professional Portrait Master Photographer who had done countless cover shots for many magazines and pageants for more than 40 years!

“This came as a surprise – the Olympus OM-D EM1X was surprisingly great for studio work. In various lighting conditions, the camera auto-focus with ease & accurately. For this set of images on this feature article, all images are shot with the EM-1X & the 45mm F1.2 PRO with studio strobes. The auto White Balance of the camera is very accurate too so there isn’t much to edit for the images – mostly just cropping and adjusting the horizon – the images are pretty much what you get direct from the camera.

I like the handling and its feather-like weight. Great for long hours working in the studio or as a handy travel camera when I am not working. I am loving it. My advise for those who intend to use this combo for studio work – you need a really fast SD card.” – Hilarion Goh
